Best Air Tents UK 2026: 7 Inflatable Tents Compared
Last updated 20 October 2026. Prices and ratings checked on Amazon UK that day.
The best air tent in the UK depends on group size and budget. On Amazon UK on 20 October 2026, the seven inflatable tents compared here were priced from £169.99 (Aoxun 2-4 Person) to £499.99 (Trail Luxton 5 Man). The Trail Brazen 4 Man (£280.49, 4.5 from 54 ratings) is the only four-berth family tent here. An air tent has inflatable beams instead of poles, so you peg it out and pump it up.
Air-tent listings are full of fabric ratings, sizes and sleeping capacities that are easy to misread, and several of them contradict themselves. This guide explains what matters when you compare them and flags where listings disagree with their own specifications. Prices and ratings change often, so confirm the current price on the product page.

*The Afitdon listing shows a price range and 442 ratings at listing level, which appear to cover all its size variants, so the score is not specific to one size, and the page does not show which size each price belongs to. Capacities, sizes and waterproof ratings are manufacturer claims taken from each Amazon UK listing. Sleeping capacity claims are generous in many tent listings, so check floor space against the number of people and the size of your sleeping mats or beds.
How to choose an air tent: UK buying guide
Air tent vs poled tent: which should you buy?
An air tent, also called an inflatable or airbeam tent, uses air-filled tubes instead of rigid poles to hold up its frame. You peg the tent down, then inflate the beams with a pump.
An air tent has inflatable beams or columns instead of poles, so setup means pegging out the tent and pumping up the frame. The listings describe pitching in minutes, and the Trail Brazen and Gidleigh listings say “peg it down, then pump it up”. Air tents are often heavier and packed larger than comparable poled tents. The listed weights here run from 11.5kg (COSTWAY) to 21.7kg (Trail Luxton). A poled tent can be lighter and cheaper, and a puncture is a consideration with an inflatable one, so check what repair kit and pump the listing says is included. The weights here are only for the air tents, and we have not compared them with poled tents.
Capacity: how many people will it really fit?
Listed capacity is the maker’s figure, and it often assumes tight sleeping space, so allow more floor space for sleeping mats, beds and kit. The Aoxun listing says 2 to 4 people in its title and bullets but gives an occupant capacity of 2 in its specification, and the COSTWAY title says 4 to 6 people while its bullets say 4. The Trail Brazen is listed with a four-berth bedroom, while the Gidleigh and Luxton list five berths with a removable divider for a 2 + 3 split.
Waterproof rating: what HH (hydrostatic head) means
HH stands for hydrostatic head, a laboratory measure, in millimetres, of how much water pressure a fabric can resist before it leaks. A higher figure means the fabric resists more water, but the number does not describe seams, groundsheets or how a tent performs in wind. The Trail listings give 5,000mm HH and the Vango listing gives 4,000mm HH. The Aoxun, Afitdon and COSTWAY listings give no waterproof figure, and the Afitdon and COSTWAY listings use mixed wording (waterproof, water-repellent, drizzle-resistant), so you cannot compare them on this measure.
Bedrooms, darkened fabric and living space
Family tents differ in how they divide the space. The Trail listings describe a “Dark Zone” bedroom, and the Brazen and Gidleigh listings say it blocks 90% more sunlight than non-Dark Zone rooms. The Vango listing describes a lights-out inner tent, and the Trail Luxton listing describes a removable bedroom divider and the Gidleigh a divider, both with a living area. The Aoxun, Afitdon and COSTWAY listings describe a single main space with mesh windows, which may suit a couple or a small family better than a large group.
Stove jacks and heating (safety)
The Aoxun listing describes a fire-resistant stove jack, and the COSTWAY listing mentions a stove jack and an AC port. If you plan to use a stove or heater, follow the tent maker’s instructions and the campsite’s rules, and do not assume a stove jack makes it safe to burn fuel indoors. Carbon monoxide is a risk with any fuel-burning appliance in a tent, so do not use a fuel-burning stove or heater inside one unless the maker explicitly says it is designed for that.
Pitched size, weight and packed size
Check the pitched size against your pitch and the packed size against your car. The listed pitched footprints run from about 3 x 2m (Aoxun, Afitdon, COSTWAY) to 5.15 x 3.3m (Trail Luxton). The Vango listing gives 17.1kg, the Brazen 14.88kg, the Gidleigh 17.46kg and the Aoxun 31.9 pounds (about 14.5kg). The Afitdon specification block mixes sizes (30kg, a 12 square metre floor area and 4 x 3m dimensions alongside a 2 to 4 person size name), so treat its weight as unreliable.
Warranty
Where a listing gives a warranty, the Vango says 2 years, the Aoxun 2 years and the Trail Luxton 1 year. The Afitdon listing’s manufacturer warranty field says “NO” (UK statutory rights still apply), and the other listings do not give a term, so check with the seller.
Aoxun 2-4 Person Inflatable Tent: lowest price here (£169.99)

Price: £169.99 | Amazon rating: 3.8 from 65 ratings
The Aoxun is the cheapest tent here and has the lowest rating. The listing describes a 420D PVC-coated Oxford fabric tent that inflates in about 5 minutes with a hand pump, a fire-resistant stove jack, a 200cm centre height, dual-layer mesh windows and a PVC skylight. The box is listed as including a hand pump, metal pegs, guy ropes and a carry bag, and the listing gives a 2-year manufacturer warranty. It lists 3 x 2.1m and about 14.5kg. It gives no waterproof rating, and the occupant capacity is 2 in the specification against 2 to 4 in the title. Its 3.8 rating comes from 65 ratings, so read recent reviews.

Afitdon inflatable tent: most ratings, several sizes

Price: from £189.00 (the page shows £189.00 to £459.00) | Amazon rating: 4.5 from 442 ratings (listing level)
This is a no-frills inflatable tent sold in several versions. The listing’s copy describes three sizes, 300 x 210 x 200cm for 2 to 4 people, 300 x 250 x 220cm for 4 to 6 people and a larger 12 square metre model for 4 to 10 people, but the page’s size selector offers more variants with different capacities, and the page shows a price range of £189.00 to £459.00 without saying which size each price belongs to. The listing describes 420D waterproof Oxford fabric, an air pump, four mosquito nets with two mosquito-net doors and inflation in five minutes, and says some versions have a chimney opening and a roof window. The manufacturer warranty field says “NO” and the listing gives no waterproof rating. The 442 ratings appear to cover all variants, so the 4.5 average is not specific to one size. Check which size and price the link lands on.

Trail Brazen 4 Man Air Tent: four-berth family tent with a purge pump (£280.49)

Price: £280.49 | Amazon rating: 4.5 from 54 ratings

It lists 455 x 270 x 195cm and 14.88kg, and describes it as a 4-season tent. The listing does not give a warranty term, and its 4.5 rating comes from 54 ratings.

Vango Odyssey Air 500 Villa: Amazon-exclusive airbeam family tent (£416.72)

Price: £416.72 | Amazon rating: 4.0 from 146 ratings
The Odyssey Air 500 Villa is the only Vango tent here, and the listing says Vango has made AirBeam tents since 1966, though its 4.0 rating is below the Trail tents. The listing describes an inflatable airbeam structure with a double-action pump included, a Protex 70 denier polyester flysheet rated 4,000mm HH, a covered entrance, a double-zip door, a lights-out inner tent and a sun canopy over the door. It lists 4.9 x 3 x 2.1m, 17.1kg, a 2-year manufacturer warranty and a 5-person capacity. The specification table shows fibreglass poles and a sleeve attachment, which does not fit an airbeam tent and appears to be inconsistent with an airbeam tent. It is sold as an Amazon exclusive.

Its 4.9 rating rests on only 12 ratings, which tells you very little.

How we chose these air tents
This is a research-based shortlist. Everything above comes from Amazon UK listings and manufacturer claims on those pages, checked on 20 October 2026, apart from the general buying advice.
We started with Amazon UK, where most British buyers will shop, and looked at inflatable or airbeam tents sold with a pump. We left out poled tents, pop-up tents, roof tents, party shelters and listings that were too sparse to compare. We compared each listing’s stated specifications, the manufacturer’s own claims on that page, and the customer rating and number of ratings shown at the time, and included a spread of price points. Several listings contradict themselves on capacity, weight or specifications, which we have flagged where it matters. On Amazon UK on 20 October 2026, the Outwell, Kampa and Coleman air tents we saw either had few or no ratings or were priced above this range, so they are not part of this shortlist.
Ratings also move over time, and a high score from a small number of ratings tells you far less than a high score from thousands. We will update this guide when prices, ratings or availability change.
Air tent FAQs: capacity, waterproofing, pumps and prices
What is the best air tent in the UK?
It depends on group size and budget. On Amazon UK on 20 October 2026, the Aoxun was the lowest-priced tent here at £169.99, the Afitdon had the most ratings (442, at listing level), the Vango Odyssey Air 500 Villa was the only Vango tent at £416.72, and the Trail Luxton had the largest listed footprint at £499.99.
Are air tents better than pole tents?
Air tents are quicker to pitch because you peg out the tent and pump up the frame, but they are usually heavier and bulkier to pack, and a puncture is a consideration. Poled tents can be lighter and cheaper. Which is better depends on how you travel and how often you pitch.
How long does it take to put up an air tent?
Listings claim minutes. The Aoxun and Afitdon listings say about 5 minutes to inflate and the Vango listing says the tent is erect within a matter of minutes. Actual times depend on the size, the pitch and your experience.
What does HH mean on a tent?
HH is hydrostatic head, a laboratory measure in millimetres of how much water pressure the fabric can resist. A higher figure means the fabric resists more water, but it does not describe seams, groundsheets or wind performance.
Can you use a stove in an air tent?
Some listings mention a stove jack, but follow the tent maker’s instructions and campsite rules. Carbon monoxide is a risk with any fuel-burning appliance in a tent, so do not use one in a closed tent without the maker’s guidance.
How many people does a 5-man air tent sleep?
The Vango, Gidleigh and Luxton listings give five people, but capacity claims are based on tight sleeping space, so allow more room if you use beds or large mats.
Do air tents come with a pump?
All seven listings say a pump is included, although the included-components fields on some are inconsistent. The Aoxun lists a hand pump, the Vango a double-action pump and the Trail tents a safety purge pump that releases air at 7 PSI.
How much does an air tent cost in the UK?
On Amazon UK on 20 October 2026, the seven air tents in this guide were priced from £169.99 (Aoxun 2-4 Person) to £499.99 (Trail Luxton 5 Man). The four-berth and five-berth Trail tents with a 5,000mm HH flysheet ranged from £280.49 to £499.99.

Which air tent should you buy? Summary by budget and group size
If you want the lowest price for a couple or small family, the Aoxun, Afitdon and COSTWAY are the cheapest tents here, though their listings give no waterproof rating and the Aoxun’s rating is the lowest of the seven. For a four-berth family tent, the Trail Brazen lists a 5,000mm HH flysheet and a purge pump at £280.49. For five people, the Vango Odyssey Air 500 Villa lists a 2-year warranty, while the Trail Gidleigh and Luxton list Dark Zone bedrooms with a 2 + 3 split, and the Luxton has the largest listed footprint on a very small rating sample. Check the pitched size, the packed weight and the waterproof rating on the product page before you order.
